Yoga for Kids, Tweens & Teens

Yoga and mindfulness is a wonderful form of physical fitness & rest for kids/tweens/teens, it helps them keep fit with the bonus of also slowing down. Either way, yoga is great for getting the heart pumping, the body moving, blood flowing and muscles twisting, especially after days being hunched over a desk or on a computer or lounging around their bedrooms. Yoga is for everybody! Yoga helps kids/tweens/teens practice being in the present moment. By taking a calm, deep breath in and a slow breath out during challenging asanas/poses and flows gives the Kids/Tweens/Teens this skill that can be utilised in emotionally challenging situations.

The stillness of mindfulness and relaxation allows the children time to feel the difference from moving to being still, of which yoga enables them to self-reflect, help them regulate emotions, develop emotional intelligence and learn about self-inquiry-checking in with themselves on how they feel and knowing it’s OK to feel ALL the emotions, rather than repressing those emotions but rather to accept them and gently let them go.

KID’S YOGA RUNS DURING SCHOOL TERM

Tue 3.45 - 4.45pm (Tweens/Teens)

Wed 3.40 - 4.30pm (5-8 yr olds)

Thur 3.40 - 4.30pm (8-12 yr olds)

 

If you can’t get your child(ren) to the yoga sessions please let me know & we will aim to organise a lift.
